Mouse Gene Knockout Illuminates How Light Resets Clock
A key role in synchronizing daily rhythms to the day/night cycle has been traced to a light-sensitive protein in the eye, by knocking out the gene that codes for it. Stereotyped adjunctive pecking by caged pigeons
The casual observation of food-deprived pigeons in their home cages reveals reliable stereotyped pecking (spot pecking) without apparent consequence or apparent eliciting stimulus. The controlling variables of pecking in a simple context such as the home cage may bear importantly on understanding data collected in other situations.

Study of the Molecular Basis of Tame and Aggressive Behavior in the Silver Fox Model
The silver fox, a color variation of the red fox, has been domesticated in a controlled experiment at the Institute of Cytology and Genetics in Novosibirsk, Russia. Starting in 1959, and selected solely on behavioral criteria for more than 40 generations, a strain of foxes with behavior extremely similar to domestic dogs was produced.
